Does it feel like everything is starting to move at light speed?
Every week there is a new AI feature, a new workflow, a new dashboard, and a new way to automate something that used to be manual. In cybersecurity, that pressure feels even stronger. Products need to look current, intelligent, and ready for serious teams, while the market keeps asking for more speed.
But moving fast does not always mean the product gets better. A platform can look active, funded, and technically strong while still making users work too hard to understand what it does, why it matters, and how to use it.
That is the gap we wanted to look at. As a cybersecurity-focused design and development studio, we chose three visible platforms already on the market — Wiz, Anomali, and Cyera — and reviewed their product experience through one shared surface: the dashboard.
The dashboard is not the whole product. But it is a good place to see how the product thinks. It shows how the platform explains value, organizes complexity, builds trust, and moves users toward action.
The question is simple: these products are powerful, visible, and clearly ambitious — but does the experience make them easier to understand and use, or does it reveal where the product still needs work?
Why the dashboard, and why these products?
We always say the dashboard is the face of the platform. It is the first page users land on, the first place they try to understand what is going on, and the first chance the product gets to make a good impression.
No pressure, but the dashboard has a lot to do.
It needs to show what kind of product this is, what the system is watching, what matters right now, and where the user should go next. If the dashboard does not tell that story, users are left staring at cards, charts, alerts, and tables trying to figure out what the platform actually wants from them.
In cybersecurity, that gets even harder. These products deal with risk, threats, assets, identities, sensitive data, alerts, investigations, and decisions that actually matter. So the dashboard cannot just look “serious” or “technical.” It needs to make the product feel useful fast.
We chose Wiz, Anomali, and Cyera specifically because they are different. Wiz brings the cloud security scale. Anomali brings threat intelligence and security operations. Cyera brings data security, classification, and visibility into sensitive information.
That mix makes the review more interesting. We are not comparing three copies of the same product or trying to crown a winner. We are using the dashboard as a shared page to look at how different security products handle the same product challenge: turning complex information into clear value.
In each dashboard, we’ll look at:
First impression: how quickly the product explains what it does.
Value clarity: whether the experience makes the platform’s value obvious.
Priority: how well it helps users understand what matters most.
Trust: whether risks, alerts, scores, and AI outputs have enough context.
Actionability: how clearly users can move from information to the next step.
Usability load: whether the product reduces complexity or pushes it back to the user.
Wiz: powerful platform, unclear priority
Wiz does well on first impression. It is immediately clear that this is a serious cloud security platform, and the multiple dashboard variations — risks, vulnerabilities and even custom views — show that the product supports different security views instead of forcing everything into one page.
Where the dashboard gets weaker is priority and actionability. Wiz shows a lot: multiple widgets, a lot of data and trends. The problem is not lack of information. The problem is that the page does not clearly tell the user what matters first, what changed, or what should happen next.
The biggest improvement would be a stronger summary layer at the top. Instead of starting with several separate widgets, the dashboard could lead with a clear “current state” message: the most urgent issue, the biggest change since the last period, and the recommended next action. That would make the product value easier to understand faster.
The visual load is also high in table-heavy views. Repeated CVEs, repeated assets, clipped names, and similar lists make the page feel denser than it needs to be. Grouping duplicate findings into expandable rows, adding clearer legends, and calling out meaningful trend changes would make the dashboard easier to scan.
Wiz already shows strong value. The issue is that the dashboard sometimes feels more like “here is everything we know” than “here is what you should focus on first.”
Anomali: strong intelligence layer, noisy experience
Anomali does well on first impression and value clarity. The dashboard quickly communicates that this is a threat intelligence and security operations surface. The page is structured around current news, targeted organizations, trending malware, and vulnerabilities, so the product value is easy to understand: helping users track what is active, who is being targeted, and what threats are gaining attention.
The strongest part is actionability. The AI assistant bar gives users a clear next step without forcing them to leave the dashboard. For this type of product, that is a smart choice. Threat intelligence often creates follow-up questions, and the interface gives users a direct way to ask them, investigate further, or move into a task.
Where the dashboard gets weaker is priority. It shows a lot of movement through trend lines, percentage changes, active mentions, and ranked lists, but it does not always make clear what deserves attention first. A clearer priority layer would help users separate what is loud from what is actually important.
There is also room to improve trust. Labels like “Most Targeted Organizations” need more context. Users should understand how the ranking is calculated, whether it is based on mentions, confirmed incidents, relevance, or another signal. The same applies to vulnerability and malware trends: the dashboard should make it easier to see why something matters, not just that it is trending.
The main issue is visual load. Some charts and cards feel energetic, but hard to read. Overlapping trend lines, repeated red sparklines, clipped descriptions, and dense lists make the page feel heavier than it needs to be. Simpler chart formats, clearer definitions, and less truncation would make the dashboard faster to scan and easier to trust.
Anomali has a strong dashboard concept. The opportunity is to make the signals more readable, the priority more obvious, and the next step more grounded in context.
Cyera: clear risk signal, weak path to action
Cyera does well on first impression at the metric level. The dashboard quickly shows that the product is about sensitive data risk, with a large headline number and supporting context around high-risk records.
But the dashboard is weaker on value clarity. It shows data risk, open issues, trends, and severity, but it is harder to understand what the platform actually helps the user do from here. The page explains the state of the data, but not enough of the product’s role in improving it.
The biggest gap is actionability. The dashboard does not make the next step obvious. Should the user investigate a specific data store, fix an access issue, review sensitive records, reduce exposure, assign an owner, or open a remediation workflow? The page needs a clearer path from “this is the risk” to “this is what to do next.”
The data visualizations also feel uneven. Some numbers are easy to understand, but several charts do not add enough clarity. A dashboard like this should make risk movement, severity, ownership, and remediation progress easier to read, not just display more views of the data.
Cyera’s opportunity is to connect the dashboard more directly to platform value. Lead with the main risk, explain why it matters, show what is driving it, and make the recommended actions visible. Right now, the dashboard shows that there is sensitive data at risk. The stronger version would show how Cyera helps reduce that risk.
The next edge is product clarity
Across Wiz, Anomali, and Cyera, the problem is not that these products lack value. They clearly do not. These are serious platforms solving serious security problems.
The problem is that the interface often makes users dig for that value. A strong product should not make users feel like they need to solve the interface before they can solve the security problem.
The biggest pattern across these products is that the technology seems ahead of the product storytelling. The platforms know a lot, but they do not always explain enough. They show risk, but not always priority. They show movement, but not always meaning. They show data, but not always the next step.
The next wave of cybersecurity products will not win only by adding more AI or more features. Everyone is doing that. The products that stand out will be the ones that make complex security work easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to act on.
So yes, the products look powerful. But the better question is: do they make that power usable fast enough?
